There are SO many dissociations/escapes that can distract us from our recovery!
There are SO many dissociations/escapes that can distract us from our recovery!
Here are some:
Over giving to others
Making other people more important than ourselves
Watching TV
Too much socializing
Eating
Drinking
Sleeping
Drugs
Toxic relationships
Putting things off until tomorrow!
There is a rich gift within our child that we NEED us to give. We don't even recognise our own power or importance.
But it's there and it's waiting to be re-born, restored and reincarnated. And it is that the world will not tell us this - only the subtle whisper within our child does.
But in order to create this gift, in order to give birth to it... we must let go of all dissociations.
Seriously, how much time do we spend on the above things? And how much time do we spend ACTUALLY re-creating our recovery?
We are guilty as they come. We spend so much time on social media, it's toxic to our recovery. Same thing with food.
We create more space for our recovery that we want to recover and stop wasting time. We could do SO much more if we didn't dissociate ourself with the above crutches.
Some of them haven't been distractions for a while (like toxic relationships, drugs and drinking), but we are all guilty as charged on the rest of them.
One of the worst ones in our life is waiting until tomorrow. Do you have that one? It's the WORST! Waiting until tomorrow slowly seduces our recovery away from us one day and one moment at a time. In the moment it doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but it really is.
So, how are we putting off our recovery today? We are curious!
